Maintenance of ditches with brand new berms

The Municipality of Morin-Heights is in full action this fall to reduce the sediment input in the main watercourse of the Ruisseau Jackson watershed. In this photo, a road shared between the municipality and that of Saint-Sauveur (Quebec) in the MRC des Pays-d’en-Haut.

Angled berms diverting water into undisturbed ground will prevent sediment-laden water from entering the stream.

Ruisseau Jackson Natural Protected Area (RJANP): is a proud partner of this citizens’ initiative! Thanks in particular to the Lake Écho Association who also believes that despite technological initiatives, the best solutions are found in nature.
