Owners’ booklet

The purpose of the owner’s booklet is to inform and educate participating owners on the conservation issues within the area of interest to RJANP.

More specifically, the program goal is to:

  • Study properties with conservation value and characterize them more precisely;
  • Identify features of interest and their conservation value on the properties studied;
  • Develop an information, education and awareness tool adapted to the specific situation of the properties studied and the owners concerned;
  • Make recommendations on how to preserve the features of interest on the properties studied;
  • Encourage the owners to sign a moral agreement / Declaration of Intent between them and RJANP, to demonstrate their commitment to protecting natural environments and ecological features of interest;
  • Inform the owners about various legal conservation options and formal by-laws that could be considered for their properties.

In short, the program builds on partnership and collaboration between the property owners and environmental specialists with a view to voluntary private land conservation and stewardship.
