Ruisseau Jackson watershed and water quality

We are currently working on a study of the Ruisseau Jackson watershed’s role in protecting water quality. With support from Abrinord’s Opération Bleu-Vert, we will be focusing on the case of Lake Echo, in Morin-Heights. River Network – Focus on a New Partner

In December 2014, Ruisseau Jackson: Protected Natural Area became a partner organization of the River Network, agroup active across North-America. Its moto “Connecting People, Saving Rivers” is very dear to us and close to our own mission. River Network’s mission is to help people organize to protect and restore rivers and watersheds. World Wetlands Day

Wetlands… Almost 7% of the Ruisseau Jackson: Natural Protected Area – and a much higher proportion around the river itself! Wetlands purify and replenish our water. Wetlands act as a natural sponge against flooding and drought, and protect our coastlines. They burst with biodiversity, and are a vital means of storing carbon. Release of the natural environment conservation plan

Following a general summary ecological characterization completed in summer 2014, we have developed a conservation plan for the area of interest in the Ruisseau Jackson watershed’s natural environments. The plan, which is associated with a concrete strategy, will help us identify objectives for the protection and enhancement of the area and determine the action required to achieve them.
