Nature Reserve Bridge Named Hope

The Municipality of Morin Heights has named a bridge over the Ruisseau Jackson in recognition of Jane Hope’s fundraising leadership to finance the creation of the Ruisseau Jackson Nature Reserve.

Hope gathered financial support to assist with the acquisition of  215 acres for the purpose of conservation. The project is a collaboration between Ruisseau Jackson Natural Protected Area (RJANP), the municipality of Morin Heights, developer Invesco Habitation, and the Lac Echo Buyers Club: an informal collective of concerned citizens. The Fondation de la faune du Quebec, and the Echo Foundation provided additional funding. The Nature Conservancy of Canada acted as advisor. The Ruisseau Jackson Nature Reserve is listed on the interactive map of the Réseau des milieux naturels protégés: RÉPERTOIRE DES SITES DE CONSERVATION VOLONTAIRE DU QUÉBEC.
