Ruisseau Jackson welcomes Morin-Heights’s Environmental and Transition Policy in advance of the new urbanism plan that the population will be able to comment next fall. The council adopted this policy on July 13th, 2022. The policy was presented to the public yesterday, on July 29th, 2022.

The Policy is extensive and takes into consideration input from Ruisseau Jackson Natural Protected Area (RJANP), especially in relation to protecting forest cover, wetlands, aquatic environments and biodiversity. As noted during the recent consultation phase, the docuemnt is a policy, it should orient all other legal instrument and inform future decision making. Also, regulations will be needed and enforced.
