This fall, residents on the Argenteuil Regional County Municipality (RCM) are invited to take part in the protection and sustainable development of the area’s wetlands and water environments.
Wetlands include natural or man-made marshes, swamps, peat bogs and ponds that are seasonal or permanently covered with water. Ditches are not considered wetlands.
Since part of the Ruisseau Jackson area is in this RCM, we invite you to read the following news release (in French only):
PLAN RÉGIONAL DES MILIEUX HUMIDES ET HYDRIQUES (PRMHH) [Regional Plan for Wetlands and Water Environments]
UNE STRATÉGIE DE CONSULTATION SOUS LE SIGNE DU DÉVELOPPEMENT DURABLE (a sustainable development consultation strategy)
It’s time to put our heads together. We invite the local population, landowners, farmers and other stakeholders to take part in a major collective reflection process regarding our wetlands and water resources, geared to the sustainable development and organization of the area. The ideas put forward will guide our actions to ensure the permanence of these natural environments, while allowing for dynamic regional development.
The PRMHH’s goal is to identify environments to be preserved and restored, or created. We all play an important part in finding the right balance between preservation and development.
