The Municipality of Morin-Heights, in partnership with RJANP, put up an interpretive signage panel made by the Société de plein air des Pays-d’en-Haut (SOPAIR). It is located near Wood Bridge, a popular hiking and snowshoe trailhead, where it is visible to hikers.
In addition to this “welcome” sign, several signs are found throughout the municipality’s trail system and feature messages inspired by the seven Leave No Trace Principles. Here is an example of a text found on these panels:
“RICH BIODIVERSITY
Ruisseau Jackson Protected Natural Area is a grassroots nature conservation movement. The region is home to critical wetlands, rare and threatened species and diverse forest environments.
Hiking 101: Walk in the middle of the trails, even when they’re muddy. Leave plants and rocks on the ground and respect the wildlife.”
