Ruisseau Jackson and its surrounding forest are as beautiful in winter as they are in summer.
After the success of the nature walk organized last spring (for which Ruisseau Jackson received an award from the David Suzuki Foundation), the organization is planning another walk, this time in snowshoes. The theme of the activity: “Discovering nature in winter.”
25 February 2017, from 13h00 to 14h15. Meeting point: Chemin Wood Bridge in Morin-Heights!
We will start on snowshoe trail no. 30 (Wood) in the vast network of tracks in Morin-Heights.
Come and discover a magical place with your children and learn more about why we have to protect this natural area bordering the river in three municipalities: Mille-Isles, St-Sauveur and Morin-Heights. A biologist familiar with the region will accompany us on the walk. The goal of the walk is to point out interesting features of the natural area, focusing on what can be observed in winter, such as birds and various animal tracks in the snow, including those of coyotes, lynx, deer, hare and wild turkeys, as well as those of ski and snowshoe enthusiasts from the Laurentians!
