Ruisseau Jackson (RJANP) is a member of the Réseau des milieux naturels protégés (network of
protected natural environments), the RMN, and we are proud that the natural reserve in our small
area is included in a new interactive tool developed by the network.
The RMN designed a story map to promote and encourage municipal voluntary conservation
initiatives across the province.
The story map features many tools and resources that help municipalities actively participate in
conservation efforts. The RMN hopes to highlight the important role municipalities and regional
county municipalities (RCMs) play in protecting natural environments and benefitting our
societies.
The Répertoire des sites de conservation volontaire du Québec (Quebec’s directory of voluntary
conservation sites – website in French only) currently lists 48 municipalities and RCMs
protecting 3,785 hectares.
