Good news to start the year: Abrinord – Organisme de bassin versant de la rivière du Nord (website in French only) will be taking water samples in the Ruisseau Jackson watershed in 2020. As in previous years, the sampling stations are in the Pays-d’en-Haut and Argenteuil regional county municipalities. Five plant species were competing as potential emblems for our organization and have been put to a popular vote. A winner was announced on 10 November 2019!  The watershed’s emblematic plant was presented by local biologist Mathieu Madison at Chalet Bellevue in Morin-Heights.  And the winner is… the broad-fruited bur-reed with approximately 30% of the vote!  More on Ruisseau Jackson’s Lire la suite →

The Municipality of Morin-Heights, in partnership with RJANP, put up an interpretive signage panel made by the Société de plein air des Pays-d’en-Haut (SOPAIR). It is located near Wood Bridge, a popular hiking and snowshoe trailhead, where it is visible to hikers.
